GPS-based speed collection method for road traffic noise
نویسندگان
چکیده
One of the most difficult and expensive tasks in making noise pollution maps is the collection and processing of the data needed to create acoustic models. In the case of road traffic noise maps, obtaining speed data for light and heavy vehicles a problem that has usually been avoided by using a road’s speed limit or by making assumptions based on experience from similar road types. Here global positioning systems-based techniques are applied for acquiring vehicle speed data and adapted to fulfill the requirements of noise prediction models. 2009 Elsevier Ltd. تجزیه و تحلیل مؤلفههای اصلی اثرگذار بر انتشار آلودگی صوتی در جاده پارک ملی گلستان
Traffic noise pollution is a serious threat to wildlife species, resulting in isolating and reducing the population. The Asian Highway of Tehran-Mashhad, from which a 26.51 km long part is located inside Golestan National Park, is the main source of noise disturbance inside the area. The purpose of this study was to determine the most important criteria for noise pollution of this road; in orde...
متن کاملInferring Gas Consumption and Pollution Emissions of Vehicles throughout a City
This paper instantly infers the gas consumption and pollution emission of vehicles traveling on a city’s road network in a current time slot, using GPS trajectories from a sample of vehicles (e.g., taxicabs). The knowledge can be used to suggest cost-efficient driving routes as well as identifying road segments where gas has been wasted significantly. The instant estimation of the emissions fro...
متن کاملReal-Time Urban Traffic State Estimation with A-GPS Mobile Phones as Probes
This paper presents a microscopic traffic simulation-based method for urban traffic state estimation using Assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS) mobile phones. In this approach, real-time location data are collected by A-GPS mobile phones to track vehicles traveling on urban roads. In addition, tracking data obtained from individual mobile probes are aggregated to provide estimations of av...
متن کاملMethod of Video-Measurements of Traffic Flow Characteristics at a Road Junction
In the theory of traffic flows the main characteristics are: intensity, speed, and density. They make it possible to use hydrodynamic models. In connection with the development of modern highways and road networks, traffic flows behavior is becoming more and more complex and diverse. In particular, the B.Kerner studies have shown that the laminar solution of hydrodynamic models is poorly corre...
متن کاملTraffic Data Collection for Floating Car Data Enhancement in V2I Networks
This paper presents a complete vision-based vehicle detection system for floating car data (FCD) enhancement in the context of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). Three cameras (side-, forwardand rear-looking cameras) are installed onboard a vehicle in a fleet of public buses. Thus, a more representative local description of the traffic conditions (extended FCD) can be obtained. Specifically, t...
